PACKING FOR A VACATION

Updated: May 8, 2019

Packing for a vacation can be hard, I always tend to overpack as I believe you can never have too many options. I say pack for the unexpected as you never know what will happen when you go abroad. Now when I say you can never have too many options I don't mean pack your entire wardrobe I mean be smart about what you pack. It is important to outfit plan prior to your trip so you don't pack unnecessary items. Remember a single outfit can go from day to night with just a few accessories so keep that in mind. I like to lay everything out on the bed when I am packing, that way I can visualise and plan my outfits. I occasionally even take photos of a certain look on my bed that way, when I'm away I remember the looks I came up with prior to leaving.

Usually summer clothes are a lot lighter so I find I can fit so much more in mysuit case. My standard summer vacation items include:

Packing for a Summer Vacation: - Bikinis- Denim Shorts- Dresses (cocktail & maxi's) - T-Shirts- Kaftan- Sarongs- Wedges- Sandals- Sneakers- Hats- Sungalsses (I usually pack at least 5 pairs)- Jewelery and Accessories (hint: I love gold jewelery, looks great with a summer tan) I love travelling in winter and I love winter fashion but packing can be a pain as winter items are much bulkier. The worst is ski clothes as they take up the most space. When my family and I go on overseas winter holidays we usually go skiing first then we Fedex our ski gear back to Australia. That way we don't have to carry it around to other destinations.

Packing for a Crisp Winter:

  • -Coat

  • Jumpers

  • Gloves

  • Jeans

  • Cashmere Sweaters

  • Tights

  • Sneakers

  • Hat/Beanie- Boots (that can be worn in wet and snowy conditions)- Scarves- Sunglasses
