ORGANISING

Updated: May 8, 2019

Sometimes my organising may come off a bit extreme and I admit I can get carried away, but I find it so therapeutic and use it to cope with my stress. I have been this way for as long as I can remember. I was always the list queen, I would write lists to make lists and still do. I was the kid who enjoyed tidying and cleaning her room. My label maker was my best friend, and still is. I started sharing my ideas a few years back but just recently I have really needed to find something for myself so my partner encouraged me to get back into my blog. Anything in my home I will find a way to organise, from a sock drawer to the kitchen cupboards. And I absolutely love it and love helping others do it too. Every space in your home has the ability to function, its just working out how to do it.

Initially taking the time to organise your home can take time and can be a process but once its done its done. When everything has a place tidying up is easy. You don't have to think when you put things away, you just know where it goes. Not to mention aesthetically pleasing. You will even find that you will save money as you can see and know exactly what you need, so you don't over buy what you already have. When you start the process of organising your home don't just jump in and attempt the whole house at once. Start small and go room by room or even cupboard by cupboard.

Go through your wardrobe and donate what you don't wear to Vinnies or The Smith Family. Go through your pantry and give unwanted food to your local food bank. This is all part of the process. The most important thing is clean out before you sort as you don't want to organise what you don't need, or aren't using. My number one rule is don't procrastinate this is how mess and clutter accumulate, attend to to it straight away, don't let a junk drawer build up, if you can help it. And my other rule is always make sure frequently used items are easily accessible.

When everything has a place and my home is clutter free my life runs so much better. To me there is nothing more satisfying then opening a cupboard and seeing everything organised and in order. I find I can spend more time with the kids as my cleaning and tidying up time is cut in half as I am not searching for things I cannot find. Please don't get me wrong my house is far from perfect no ones is. But if you have systems in place trust me your life will run smoother and be much more manageable.
